IPv6 Connectivity

This APRS server is now supporting the IPv6 protocol. All major functionality like the web frontend as well as the APRS-IS feed are now accessible via the IP version 6 protocol.

If you already have IPv6 available, you can reach this server using the hostname www.ipv6.db0anf.de. Please notice that this address can NOT be reached using classic IPv4 – in this case, please use www.db0anf.de as usual.

For accessing the APRS-IS feed via IPv6, just use the usual ports (like 14580), and change the server name to ipv6.db0anf.de.

If you would like to get IPv6 connectivity, there are a couple of providers offering it (some even free of charge). Just try it out – it’s the future of the internet!

Deep Linking to www.db0anf.de

If you plan to link directly to station records within www.db0anf.de/app/aprs, please find below some info about useful parameters:

days=number

Used at lists for digi-users and digi-usage, and at the digi-user map to limit output to the most recent number of days.

Example:

http://www.db0anf.de/app/aprs/stations/digiusers-DB0FD?days=2
http://www.db0anf.de/app/aprs/stations/digiusermap-DB0FD?days=1

sort=order

Used at lists for digi-users and digi-usage to sort output. Most common sort options are:

  • sort=lastheard-d to sort by last heard date in reverse order

Digi Users on Map

A new map type has been added to display the users of an individual digipeater on a google map.

Some hints:

  • Use the “Filter List Content” box to reduce the content. A good value would be “2” to display the last two days users only.
  • For mobile stations, only their last position that has been digipeated via the selected digipeater is shown.
  • Due to the nature of the APRS RF network as well as due to the APRS-IS characteristics (like dupe checking), not all packets appearing on the RF network can be recorded in this database.
  • You might need to play with the zoom function for optimal viewing.

    Some nice examples:

  • DB0ADS, a local WIDE digi
  • DB0MW, a wide area digi with a really impressing coverage area
